The Happy Fork

My friend (teammate) lost her dad last week—she is the nicest most positive person I have ever known. No one deserves to lose a family member, but it just hurt so much to everyone who knows her because this should not happen to someone so kind. Fewer than two days after, she was back on the softball field with a smile and positive attitude. I don’t know how she does it, but I can say: It truly rains hardest on people who deserve the sun.

Friends at BB&N

I have two days of school left and would like to say a little something something about my friends whom I love at BB&N:

Laura Mess- You were my first friend at BB&N and you know I absolutely love you to death. When we don’t talk for a while it always gets to me, and when we catch up there is nothing better. I cannot wait to spend 4 more years with you at Kenyon and I’m never letting you go as my friend <3

Blotner- You are the biggest and most loving goof I have ever met. You are always there for me and everyone—you have such a big heart. You can always make me smile and you’re an awesome friend…I will text you first :)

Ariana W- You are adorable and have quite the social life! I’m so happy we are friends and you make my life so much more fun and interesting! I can’t wait for you to go to Villanova and befriend everyone.

Jen- I would have to say you are the best peer counselor: A true friend, an artist, an athlete, and academic wiz. You care about people so much and I am so happy we are friends. I’m thrilled for you that you are going to Dartmouth next year and you’re going to make yourself an awesome time there. Hearts forever <3

Leah- You honestly take care of me, sometimes without even knowing it. Last year, when I was having a bad year, you were one of the first people I told because I knew, even if you didn’t understand, you would try your hardest to help me. You’re an amazing person, don’t you ever forget that boo <3

Erin- You say ridiculous things and have the best laugh. I will never forget all the Boston sporting events we have gone to and that one all nighter that was potentially the worst decision of my life. You’re going places in life and I am happy to be by your side when you do.

Lucy- You’re one of the most positive people I have ever met and I love our Monday Fundays. No matter what happens before you leave home you will create an awesome independent and successful life for yourself because that is just who you are. I will miss you so much—love you.

Margy- I will never forget the first moment I met you and thought you were terrifying. Little did I know we would soon be making shadow puppets on tent walls. You’re an awesome and fun person and I will never forget you <3

Monica- We didn’t talk that much (but you know I always read your blog) over the four years here but I think you’re an amazingly strong person ready to conquer the world with your mad golf and Egyptian Rat Screw skillz <3

Tyrone- You’re my best guy friend at BB&N and you don’t even know how happy I am for you that you are going to an amazing school. I can’t wait to have late night procrastination conversations with you!

To my other friends at BB&N: I love you all to death and will make sure to keep in touch <3
